Our Wedding Day, the best day ever at Ashton Hill Farm
Our wedding day was truly the best day ever. We were surrounded by so many loved ones and it meant so much to us that everyone was there to celebrate us. Ben and I had been engaged for 21 months so we were definitely ready to say I DO!
The day started off with pouring rain as we carried in decorations for the reception. There was so much rain and thunderstorms. As were carrying in items Megan Knatz, Owner of Ashton Hill Farm approached me and asked if we wanted to ceremony set up inside or outside due to all the rain. She had mentioned that it was supposed to stop raining in the late morning. I told her I strongly believe in the power of prayer and to go ahead and set up as were having an outdoor ceremony even though at this time, it was pouring rain.
Ben and I shared personalized vows during our ceremony. We were so excited to share our love for one another. Our vows were by far my favorite part of the ceremony. Scherie Gates was our officiant. During our ceremony she had asked to look at the crowd and look at everyone that was here. I still remember that so clearly. It was pretty amazing looking out to all the people that had traveled from all over the country to celebrate us.
Our daughter, Kinsley made an appearance in our wedding as our little flower girl. My sister, Lexi carried her down the aisle. It was truly the most beautiful thing!
It is crazy how fast the day went by. In a blink of an eye, it was time for our reception dinner. We had Butcher Block catered, which was also the restaurant that Ben and I went to on our first date. We had menus printed from By Invitation Only thanking our guests for sharing our first meal as Mr. & Mrs. with us. The room was filled with beautiful blooms from the wonderful, Shelly Sarver at Shelly Sarver Designs. Shelly and I met a few times before our wedding and she knew exactly what I wanted. She was able to bring my dream to life.
The night ended with dancing on the dance floor and a night of laughs.
I was worried about several things throughout the day. Kids meals going missing, late arrivals, falling behind schedule, etc. However, the moment I stood up there at the alter none of that mattered. I was here to marry my best friend and that was going to happen if everything was behind schedule or not. At the end of the day, that is all that mattered to me.
Ben and I were finally able to start our little own family. You have no idea how happy that made us. I love Ben and Kinsley so much, I don’t know what I would do without them. I am so thankful I met him four years ago.
It truly was the best day ever.
xo,
