As wedding planners, our goal is to create joy and cultivate love in all aspects of our lives and most importantly in our client's lives. We emphasize the importance of the tiny details in design that bring out our couple's personalities and tell their unique love stories.

Karla Lewenczuk founded Honey & Joy in 2016, driven by her love for detailed timelines and visual aesthetics. Shortly after, Karla decided to leave the corporate world behind and pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors by creating Honey & Joy. Since then, Karla and her team have successfully planned and coordinated over 500+ weddings and events all over the Midwest.
When it comes to planning, Karla’s knowledge of corporate events, budgeting, and visual aesthetics are what have made her such a success. She also creates all floral designs in-house and has a deep passion for bringing each couple’s vision to life through custom floral arrangements. Whether it's a romantic bouquet or an elaborate floral installation, Karla loves using flowers to elevate every detail of the event experience.

Brooke is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned a degree in Textile and Apparel, building a strong foundation in design and creative development. She spent over ten years in the marketing field, gaining valuable experience in branding, project coordination, client relations, and strategic communication. This background strengthened her organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects with precision and creativity.
After dedicating time to raising her five children, Brooke returned to the workforce and has spent the past four years in the event industry. She thrivesn fast-paced, detail-oriented environments and is known for her leadership and organizational strengths. A key focus of her work is floral design, where she combines creativity and technical skill to produce visually impactful arrangements that align with each event’s unique vision.
Outside of her professional work, Brooke leads an active family life and is a devoted dance mom, supporting her children and their many activities. This dynamic balance reflects her energy, adaptability, and commitment—qualities that translate seamlessly into her professional approach and contributions within the event industry.

Sadie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Tourism, and Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa, all while competing as a Division I athlete on the university’s track and field team. Her passion for planning truly came to life when she became a bride herself and has only grown as she’s walked alongside more and more friends through their own wedding journeys. Naturally detail-oriented and creatively driven, she has always found joy in bringing visions to life through thoughtful planning and intentional design.
She married her sweet husband and best friend, Austin, whom she met through Salt Company, a campus ministry during college. Serving others has always been at the heart of everything she does. She finds great joy in building genuine relationships, guiding couples through meaningful moments, and delivering an organized, seamless, and joy-filled experience. With a heart for service, a love for people, and a strong foundation of planning expertise, she is deeply excited to come alongside brides and help create days that are as beautiful as they are memorable.

With a degree in Hospitality Management with an Event Management Minor from Iowa State University and over four years of experience in the events industry, Celia brings a genuine passion for creating meaningful celebrations to every wedding she plans.
Her internship with Honey & Joy confirmed what she already knew—she loves being part of life’s biggest moments. From the first conversation to the final detail, Celia takes the time to truly get to know each couple and build a relationship with them. She believes that the best weddings are a reflection of the people getting married, and she loves bringing their vision to life in a way that feels uniquely theirs.
Known for her attention to detail and thoughtful approach, Celia is the person who makes sure nothing gets overlooked. She takes pride in staying organized, anticipating needs, and creating a seamless experience so her couples can be fully present and enjoy every moment of their wedding day.

Avery graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Event Management and a minor in Hospitality Management. With three years of experience in the events industry, she brings a creative eye and a passion for designing beautiful, memorable celebrations to every event she touches.
Her internship with Honey & Joy gave her the opportunity to experience the joy of weddings firsthand and deepened her love for bringing a couple’s vision to life. Avery especially loves the creative side of event planning—from thoughtfully designed details to creating beautiful floral arrangements that elevate the overall look and feel of an event.
With a naturally creative mindset and a keen eye for design, Avery works closely with her creative team to ensure every element comes together seamlessly. She is passionate about the little details that make an event feel intentional and uniquely yours, and she takes pride in making sure every detail is beautifully executed.
