How did you two meet?
This is a combination of question 1 & 2) Me and Josh unfortunately met in high school my junior his sophomore year, through his cousin, my good friend’s funeral. He became my bestfriend. I was dating quite the crappy guy in highschool who cheated on me and disrespected me. Josh was always there for me and told me I don’t deserve that, but at the time, I was naïve and didn’t understand there could be good guys out there. Josh was dating a friend of mine at the time and so we would all 3 always hang out and I NEVER thought of Josh as more than an amazing friend because, well he was dating my friend. Well they dated for a month until she broke up with him because she wasn’t ready for a relationship. I was there for Josh in the same way he was for me and told him, he will find someone. He says this exact thing: “I think I already did….” And I was like oh yay!! Really?! Who? (not even thinking, obviously) And he goes “….you” and I was like no, no, no. You just dated my friend, girl code and plus we are such good friends and I need that and don’t want to mess it up. He eventually convinced me to hang out with him for one day and said if I don’t feel it then we can go back to being friends. I said fine, whatever. Well since that day, I’ve been the happiest girl alive. We have been together now 6 years, he is still my best friend and still the amazing man who will always fight for me and be there for me.
How did he pop the question?
4 years ago when Josh turned 18 we moved into our first apartment together. The day we moved in, after we got everything moved in, he called me out to the living room and he grabbed my hands and named the millions of reasons he loved me and then got down on one knee and BAM. He proposed and I said yes! Haha.
Tell us your favorite memory from the wedding planning process?
Our favorite memory from planning our wedding was honestly the song selection. We had so much fun thinking of songs that would describe out our love story. There were tears, belly laughing, a little screaming on debating over songs haha, but that made it more fun.
Tell us your favorite part of the wedding day
Our favorite part of the wedding day would be the moment we said I do. It became so real. And seeing how emotional everyone was including us just solidified how important and amazing our marriage is.
What special details did you incorporate in your wedding day?
Family Dance. We obviously had our daughter prior to getting married but we really wanted this to be something that incorporated Ava too not just us. So we decided after our first dance to dance to also dance together as a family because now it was like the finishing touch to our family, getting married.
How did you pick your wedding colors?
Wedding Colors? To be honest I picked the perfect combination, dusty blue and blush pink. Two timeless colors that will look good in any decade! I wanted to look back at this wedding and not think god that looks like it was forever ago, I wanted it to feel like it was just yesterday!
Tell us about the vows/letters you both wrote
We decided to write letters because believe it or not we are both pretty shy and didn’t want to share that moment with anybody but us so we wrote letters and exchanged them after the first look. It was nice to have those words all to ourselves, it is like the whole world isn’t in on our “secret”. I love that.
Tell us about Miss Ava!
Well Ava is our freaking WORLD! She is hands down the best gift God has ever given us! When we look at her, our hearts skip a beat. She is growing up so fast and we are trying to enjoy every second and not miss anything. She is the perfect combination of beautiful and sassy. We wouldn’t trade her for the world and are so blessed to have her. I can’t imagine a life without her. And I am crying so I need to stop! HAHA! Byeeeee
What is next for you two?
What’s next? Everything! Our lives just began. We are both 23 and 22 years old, we have our entire lives ahead of us. Some say we are too young to have everything we have, but I think we are lucky. We get to have what we have so much longer than other people. We want to be alive for our great, great grandkids! We want to see it all. But if you want to know what is literally next, finishing our basement so if you know anyone, let us know! Hahaha.
