POSITION OVERVIEW:

Honey & Joy Events is looking for a talented Planning Associate to join our fun and fast-paced team!

Assists with all aspects of planning + rental management inventory, and cleaning.

Leading up to the event, you will be serve as the liaison between the client, vendors and the rest of our team. You will host client meetings, ensure deadlines are met, and create detailed timelines/documents for the success of the wedding day. As a Planning Associate, you will be the direct contact for all vendors and key players during event execution and you will oversee a team of one or two event assistants. You will be responsible for distributing information prior to the wedding, orchestrating any necessary event prep meetings (ex: wedding rehearsal), crossing all of the T’s and dotting every I of the scheduled details for that event.

This position will be about 25-30 hours per week spent working events/ planning weddings while the other 10-15 hours will be spent managing all rentals and decor items; IE keeping the warehouse organized, taking inventory, packing orders, unloading the van, unpacking orders, cleaning, and ordering more rental items as needed.

For this position, we expect you to have proficient writing skills, the ability to command a room in a professional manner, and have an in-depth understanding of how detail planning ensures success. You should exude profound stress management, have excellent time management skills, and use your communication skills for effective collaboration between client and vendor teams. You must love organization and be well organized to be successful in this role.

a little about the role

This person must live in Des Moines, IA and be able travel to events in different locations throughout the city. You must have evening and weekend availability for lengthy amounts of time (specifically 10-12 hours on the weekend) during the execution of meetings and events. You must have a reliable laptop as we will not provide one. This position is full-time.

  • Team task management

  • Schedule and conduct client meetings

  • Rental management

  • Rental cleaning

  • Pack rental orders

  • Assist with keeping office clean

  • Run office errands as needed

  • Assembly of stationery

A normal week may look like:

Sunday + Monday: off

Tuesday: 9-4 | rentals

Wednesday: 9-3| office

Thursday: 9-4 | rentals

Friday: 12-5 | event set up // rehearsal // and or office

Saturday: 9am-12am |
